Questions About Moving Services

This page answers the most common questions people ask before booking a move, including pricing, scheduling, logistics, timing, and expectations. These questions are based on real customer conversations and common search queries related to residential moving in South Florida and beyond.

About Our Services

What does a moving logistics and coordination company do?

A moving logistics and coordination company plans, organizes, and manages the details of a move, including scheduling, timing, communication, and coordination. The goal is to ensure the move is structured, efficient, and properly planned.

How is a logistics-based moving company different from a traditional mover?

A logistics-based model focuses on planning and coordination rather than operating a single fixed crew. This allows moves to be structured based on size, access, timing, and complexity instead of a one-size-fits-all approach.

What types of moves do you coordinate?

We coordinate residential moves including apartments, condos, townhomes, single- family homes, and larger multi-bedroom residences.

Local & Long-Distance
Moves

What is considered a local move?

A local move typically includes relocations within the same city or nearby cities, often within approximately 50 miles or less. Distance alone does not determine complexity.

What is considered a long-distance move?

Long-distance moves generally involve relocations beyond the local region, extended travel time, and more sensitive scheduling requirements.

Are local moves easier than long-distance moves?

Not always. Local moves can involve elevators, stairs, parking restrictions, and tight building time windows, making them just as complex as longer moves.

Do local moves still require planning and coordination?

Not always. Local moves can involve elevators, stairs, parking restrictions, and tight building time windows, making them just as complex as longer moves.

Pricing & Estimates

How are moving estimates calculated?

Estimates are based on factors such as:
Size of the move (rooms, furniture, items)
Access conditions (stairs, elevators, walking distance)
Distance and travel considerations
Scheduling requirements and timing windows

Is your pricing hourly or flat-rate?

Most moves are billed using a time-based (hourly) pricing structure to ensure clients are charged based on actual work performed rather than assumptions.

Why isn’t an estimate a guaranteed final price?

An estimate reflects a projected range. Final time can change due to inventory volume, access restrictions, preparation
level, and real-world conditions on move day.

What is a temporary authorization hold?

A temporary authorization hold is a standard payment practice where an estimated maximum amount is authorized to ensure funds are available. This is not a final charge.

When is my card actually charged?

Your card is charged after the move is completed, based on the actual time worked. Any unused authorization amount is released.

Will I be charged for time not worked?

No. Final billing reflects only the actual time required to complete the agreed scope of service.

How long does it take for authorization holds to be released?

Release timing depends on your bank, but most holds are released within several business days once the final charge is processed.

 Scheduling Availability

How far in advance should I schedule my move?

Scheduling earlier allows for better planning and availability. End-of-month and weekend moves tend to book faster.

Are weekends or end-of-month moves harder to schedule?

Yes. These dates are in higher demand and often require earlier booking to secure availability.

What days of the week are moves typically scheduled?

Moves can be scheduled on weekdays or weekends, depending on availability and demand.

Will I receive confirmation before my scheduled move date?

Yes. Confirmation and coordination details are provided before the scheduled move.

Move Day & Timing

What happens on the day of the move?

On move day, the scheduled moving team arrives as planned and completes the move according to the agreed scope and schedule.

How long does a typical move take?

Move duration varies based on size, access conditions, preparation level, and distance. There is no universal time estimate.

What if my move takes longer than expected?

If additional time is required due to scope or access conditions, billing reflects the actual time worked.

What if my move takes less time than estimated?

You are charged less, based on the actual time worked.

What can delay a move on move day?

Common delays include:
Building access issues
Elevator availability
Parking restrictions
Client not being fully prepared
Traffic or logistical challenges

 Buildings, Apartments & HOAs

Do I need to notify my building or HOA before moving?

Many buildings require advance notice or reservations. It’s best to confirm requirements ahead of time.

Do you coordinate elevator reservations?

When information is provided in advance, logistics coordination includes planning around elevator reservations and building rules.

What happens if my building has strict move-in or move-out rules?

These rules are factored into scheduling and planning to help avoid delays.

Packing & Preparation

Do movers pack items as part of the move?

Packing services may be coordinated when discussed in advance and included in planning.

What items should I not include in the move?

Clients should personally transport:
Important documents
Valuables
Cash
Medications
Irreplaceable items

Do I need to disassemble furniture before the move?

Some items may require disassembly and reassembly, which can be coordinated when discussed beforehand.

After the Move

What happens after the move is completed?

After completion:
Time is confirmed
Final billing is processed

Any unused authorization amount isreleased
Follow-up may occur if needed
